MFS is the vision of its director, Erik Reurts and his background in engineering and investing. In 2000 Erik was working as a telecommunications engineer, building fibre optic rings in Sydney CBD for a global telecommunications company. From that role he was able to buy a block of land in western Sydney and build his family home. He leveraged that to buy an investment property nearby.
From those early purchases Erik realized he wanted to stay in the industry. His own journey had helped him see there are 3 disciplines involved in most successful property transactions:
- A great finance set up and product
- A great property
- The right tax structure and benefits (only for an investment purchase)
With that, Erik looked into each field to work out where he wanted to be and in 2003 Erik changed careers and started MFS. Since then Erik has helped over 100 clients, run seminars on money management and budgetting and has written close to $200m in loans.
Erik’s help is in high demand as he goes about demystifying the complicated world of finance for nervous first home buyers and showing seasoned property investors how to tap into the power of their assets. He has also helped rescue families from crippling credit card and personal debt.
Micah Financial Services is a full member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) and the Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO).

Hana is our dedicated Marketing Specialist and Mortgage Processing Assistant with a passion for helping our team and clients achieve goals. She specializes in administrative work, marketing campaigns, social media, website management, and mortgage after-sales service support/client care.
Graduated as Cum Laude with a major in Accounting. She gained her professional experience in retail banking for 10 years in cross selling bank products and services, customer service, mortgage packaging, documentation, and processing. She also gained her certification in Digital Marketing with 4 years experience. Through her experiences in these different areas of specialization, she is capable of getting the job done effectively and efficiently.
When she’s not working, you might find her exploring new marketing trends, diving into the latest financial news, or spending quality time with her family. She’s very committed to continuous learning and growth, both personally and professionally, to stay ahead in this ever-evolving field.
Flora is our customer success / mortgage processing team member. That means we first discuss the scenario with Flora to see if there are any potential policy or affordability problems. With over 3 years of experience working as a Mortgage Loan Processor she knows what will work and what won’t and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to lender policiy. When Flora says it should work we get going.
She also has a good working knowledge of mortgage broking tools like servicing calculators and her organizational skills means she is our gun when it comes to looking after multiple client applications. Flora is the one who will do a lot of the communications to keep you informed, ask for clarification or additional documents.
From her 8 years of working in a call center as a Customer Service Representative she has developed great communication skills, the ability to handle customers concerns professionally and provide prompt resolutions.
What We Do
We start by understanding your situation, plans and goals through an initial conversation. We then work out if your plan is possible. A quick set of calculations to see if affordability & policy works.
If that is the case we report back to you that all seems do-able. If you are ready to go ahead we start building your profile on our secure online portal and start the collection of documents, compliance forms and e-signatures. The portal allows for a fast application process and a central platform to keep you up to date. However, we also make sure you can call and talk to one of us if you prefer.
When the documents are verified we create a plan and mortgage structure to suit your needs. If that proposal is accepted by you we finish off the application and submitt.
This way, we have organised well over a thousand loans for first home buyers, investors and those looking for a better deal. We are here to help you achieve your goals and love doing it!
